Discussion: Every Worker Needs A Union

Members of the Industrial Workers of the World will be holding a discussion at this years Belfast Radical Bookfair on Saturday 22nd November, as part of our recent campaign titled 'Every Worker Needs A Union' which will be examining why we believe workers must be unionised.

The 'Every Worker Needs A Union' campaign will see members of the IWW Ireland branch reaching out to non-unionised workers on the streets and at their place of work over the coming months.

One member of the union said "The campaign is an organised effort to help support and encourage workers to get active, get trained and get unionised wherever they work or live. As a grassroots union, we believe it's vital for every worker to come together to defend one another against attacks on their rights at work. It's important that workers are unionised and trained on how best we can fight back against the bosses. As a union, we will discuss how best workers can do just that, through the tactics of mutual aid, direct action and solidarity."

The event will take place during this years Belfast Radical Bookfair VAULT STUDIOS 39 Corporation Street, Belfast, BT1 3BA at 2pm.
