Over the coming weeks, members around the country will be participating in the union-wide campaign to help encourage workers to unionise themselves and their place of work. As a union the IWW in Ireland put together regular training events to unskilled members on how best they can unionise workers. Fellow workers are encouraged to step forward and gain the necessary tools to help build the union in their place of work.
A spokesperson for the IWW Ireland Branch said the “We are a relatively young union in Ireland which is growing throughout the country. All of our members are encouraged to learn the skills necessary to help take the fight to the bosses and defend their rights at work. We provide regular training sessions, such as Organiser 101 and Rep training, that gives workers the confidence to help themselves and other workers.
“Already there are plans to carry out regular info stalls in most city centres around the country over the coming weeks and months. If you’re a member in an isolated area who can help distribute campaign information then please get in touch. Every member has a part to play in building the union wherever they work or live.
“If you are part of the IWW in Ireland and would like to take part in training then please get in touch with the secretary and register for the next round of training. If you’re not a member yet, but would like to be, then please join the union online today.”
