IWD in Galway

Members of the IWW in Galway out in solidarity on International Working Women's Day. The Industrial Workers of The World fight for the rights of all workers in society. It has long been recognised by the IWW that so-called "housekeeping" is nothing more than unpaid domestic servitude when the responsibility for these essential tasks is decided by gender politics and sexist employment norms.

We call for equal pay for equal work. We also call for a dismantling of the system that causes women only to be considered caregivers and cleaners in support of male breadwinners and castle owners. These old systems of dominance are redundant and are only maintained because there is no profit in changing it.

We workers don't need "profit". We need a living. We need - Bread, Yes!! But Roses Too!!
