IWW Solidarity with Public Sector Workers

The Industrial Workers of the World extended its solidarity with all public service workers taking part in what was one of the country's largest strike action on Wednesday 14th October.
Unions directly involved have been holding separate talks with mediators up until recently and more are planned in the coming days. Representatives have accused the Government of stalling on ‘credible offers on pay’.
A spokesperson for the IWW Ireland Branch said: “As a union we extend our solidarity with all workers taking part in industrial action. We also have to acknowledge that this is an important time for the labour movement, as well as for public sector workers taking part in strike action. It is through times such as these that many workers come to understand both the importance of belonging to a union and the strength they have collectively as workers.
“The organising and the discussions that workers are having at this time within the workplace and around our demands that we collectively set out. These are important conversations that many workplaces are participating in.
“For ourselves, these are important lessons for workers who are actively taking part in the class struggle as strike action continues, and for those workplace struggles that have yet to come. In the months ahead, many workers, some who are not even in a union, will gain strength from the actions of our public sector workers.”
As further strike action is now being put forward, workers are once again preparing themselves for the picket lines. In doing so, the IWW extends its solidarity and support to all those workers across the country and to their respective unions.
An Injury To One, Is An Injury To All!
