On Saturday 24 & Sunday 25th May 2025, the IWW Ireland branch will hold two Workplace Representative Trainings at the same time. There will be one training for the South of Ireland legislation, and one training for North of Ireland legislation.

Please see below for the venue of each training:

  1. Training for North of Ireland legislation will take place in Derry.

  2. Training for South of Ireland legislation will take place in Dublin.

The branch will reimburse any transport and accommodation costs for attendees. Venue and schedule will be issued closer to the training dates. Training typically takes place from 10:00-16:00 each day, with comfort breaks and an hour for lunch (provided by the union).

If you are a member and would like to attend, please reply to this email as soon as possible, and let us know if you require any specific accommodations that will allow you to participate (e.g. dietary requirements, childcare, etc.).

What is the Workplace Representative Training?

This training explains the role and position of a union representative in the IWW. This is the first step in becoming an accredited rep for the IWW - this would allow you to represent fellow workers at workplace meetings and disputes in an official union capacity. You will also gain a good understanding of basic workplace rights which you may find useful in your organising activities!

Who can attend?

Any member of the IWW is welcome to attend the course. No prior knowledge is needed, and there is no requirement for attendees to be currently organising in their workplace.

Please email ireland@iww.org.uk if you are interested in attending the training.

In Solidarity,

Ireland Branch Secretary
