EC Workers Deserve Better!

Writer: IWW IrelandIWW Ireland

Earlier this week members of the TEFL Workers Union - IWW in both England and Ireland took part in a number of co-ordinated actions outside a number of English Council Language Academies and Schools. The action was to step up growing solidarity amongst English Language Teachers to unionise against further attacks within the EC sector locally and internationally.

One leaflet that was handed out to EC workers highlighted that 'Across the UK - and across the world - EC teachers are getting together, bringing their issues to management, and forming unions.'

A spokesperson for the TEFL Workers Union said that "We want to keep up the momentum, so we're inviting EC staff from across the UK to a big group discussion on how we can link up and support each other.

If you're in London, come down to the union office. If you're not in London, join us via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent after registration.

The meeting is open to all non-managerial staff. Teachers, admin, support staff: if you work at EC, the TEFL Workers' Union has got your back!

No managers please!
